Description

"Imagine a garage only for funeral hearses. I wander in on a routine day of shooting while living under the regime of Portugal's repressive, fascist dictator Antonio de Oliveira Salazar. An eerie dust covers the silence and blankets the cars in the same way the thin silence dusts the nation. The metaphor is perfect. The only celebration is the clarity that comes through the glass as the driver wipes away a section of dust on the windshield. Gotcha!!! The picture is forever. The silence lifts with the death of the dictator, but the memory lives on. This picture symbolizes that transformative moment."
