 Julie Mack  On the Move

Combining great wit and sensuous color, Ms. Mack has created an impressive body of work, sharing the awkward and humorous moments that her parents and brothers experience before her large-format camera and the requisite time-exposures needed. Whether in a hotel room in Italy or in the family SUV pulling out of the driveway, it is hard not to laugh, and possibly cringe, at these wonderful and revealing images.

Julie Mack was born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit and is a recent graduate of Parsons School of Design. She is a recipient of the Tierney Grant in 2005 and her photographs have been reproduced in publications, such as Life Magazine, American Photo Magazine, Teen People, and BE Magazine. Her work has received great critical and commercial success at ART BASEL, ARCO, and Paris Photo this past year.
