Michael Spano

Michael Spano is a New York based artist among photography's creative innovators. Throughout his career Spano has utilized many photographic techniques to express his singular vision. Partial solarization and the use of sequential grids has characterized most of his best known imagery. They challenge the convention of a singular point of view in photography, while charging the subject matter with a hyper-real quality. Formally innovative and deeply expressive, his work confronts our perceptions of other people and the environment around us. Spano's photographs are included in numerous museum and corporate collections in the United States and Europe.
