JESSICA BACKHAUS I Wanted to See the World
|
Jesus and the Cherries, published by Kehrer
Verlag,
Jessica Backhaus is an artist who captures nuances of everyday life with
a combination of a powerful
sense of color and an emotional sensibility.
Whether it be a jar of cherries,
a hot-pink plastic ribbon tied to a pole, or dancing reflections on
water, her camera becomes
an extension of her heart as well as her mind.
Jessica Backhaus has exhibited widely in Europe, including: the Martin
Gropius-Bau, Berlin; The Photographers Gallery, London; Robert Morat
Galerie, Hamburg; Fotohof, Salzburg, Austria; and the National Portrait
Gallery, London. A
selection of her work will be on exhibit at the Margulies Warehouse,
