Having personally participated in two of Neal Slavin’s group photographs, I can attest to the rigorous concentration he applies to get everyone into an ideal position. After about eight commands of “hold it” and “just one more,” everyone is feeling relaxed, and loose . . .The picture taken, we are finally allowed to return to our individual pursuits.
In this 1987 group portrait, the riotous sparring of the Washington D. C. Fencer's club might bring to mind clashing lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Maybe someone needs to shout: HOLD IT!
