This photo represents a marriage of two of Anastasia Samoylova’s key influences: the dynamic and angular compositions of Constructivist artists like Aleksander Rodchenko and the bold, color-saturated streets of her adopted home of Miami. Overall, this zippy picture is a clear homage to the abstract impulse in 20th century street photography, a tradition that’s given here a rousing jolt of contemporary color.
