Robert Frank’s restless travels reflected an artistic mind in search of people and the truths they held in them, from peasants to politicians. A common thread is that wherever in the world he found himself, he was drawn most to the common people there, and capturing their soulful interior life. His photographs from Peru often feature individuals with their eyes focussed on Frank and his camera, forging a link, as we see here in this scene of a family gathered around a fire for dinner.
