Fred Herzog passed away last week at the age of 88. He was a visionary, and one of the first post-war photographers to capture the urban scene in color. He lived most of his adult life in Vancouver, and shot color slides that fortunately were well preserved when advances in digital printing arrived and enabled Fred to have luscious prints made and then exhibited around the world, and published in numerous monographs. He will be missed.
