This past weekend the impressive exhibition LIFE Magazine and the Power of Photography opened at the Princeton University Art Museum, where it will be on display through June 21. Comprehensively researched and imaginatively installed by Katherine Bussard, Kristen Gresh, Alissa Schapiro and their team, this 36 year survey is a must for anyone interested in modern history, culture, and the power of photographs to inform and influence a nation. On August 19th the exhibition will move to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Laurence Miller Gallery is honored to have assisted Princeton University Art Museum in its recent acquisition of prints by Larry Burrows from the Burrows family collection.
A sad footnote: The Newseum closed this past December 31, after years of financial difficulties, and its archive will be transferred to other institutions.
